The Boy Scouts of America, Great Rivers Council is proud to offer scholarships that can help you continue your educational adventure.
Missouri Valley College
Missouri Valley College has partnered with the Boy Scouts of America, Great Rivers Council, to establish one of the country’s largest Eagle Scout Scholarships – $52,500 over four years.
Dr. Joe Parisi, president of Missouri Valley College, and John K. Fabsits, scout executive and CEO, made the joint announcement today.
“Eagle Scouts are high-achieving, high-character individuals,” Parisi said. “Their leadership and level of service and commitment is an example for all.”
Parisi said it was only natural to create the scholarship, given H. Roe Bartle’s legacy as president at Missouri Valley College and founder of the American Humanics Program, along with being the legendary scout executive of the Kansas City Area Council for over 25 years.
“We are committed to the level of excellence H. Roe Bartle stood for,” Parisi said. “And we want to take it to the next level.”
Fabsits said the partnership between the Boy Scouts and Missouri Valley College paves the way for the next generation of students and equips graduates with great tools as they enter the workforce.
“It provides a unique opportunity for young leaders to pursue their dreams, make a difference, and create a better tomorrow,” Fabsits said.
Missouri Valley College has earmarked up to $250,000 per year for Eagle Scouts, Parisi said. To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must have completed their Eagle Scout Award and be admissible to Missouri Valley College. Recipients of the scholarship must qualify annually with satisfactory academic progress.

Scholarships are awarded to Eagle Scouts who have shown active participation in school, Scouting activities, and community service, and who demonstrate they understand the fundamentals of service to community, service to Scouting and their character.
